K&E 4041 Family of Mannheim Slide Rules
Scale sets:
A = B C = D = S L T = (L scale counts right to left)
- 4030 ------- 5" brass chisel point cursor. The scales have fine graduations the same as a 10" rule. No serial number. The rule probably was produced between 1901 and 1903. The frame was made of boxwood.
- 4031 #1 --- 5" Early metal framed cursor. There is an extended centi-meter scale inside the frame. The scales have fine graduations the same as a 10" rule. No serial number. The frame is made of boxwood instead of mahogany. The rule was probably produced between 1903 and 1906.
- 4031 #2 --- 5" Early metal framed cursor. There is an extended centi-meter scale inside the frame. The scales have fine graduations the same as a 10" rule. No serial number. The rule was produced between 1906 and 1910.
- 4031 #3 --- 5" All glass cursor with metal cursor blocks and a magnifier. The frame width is 21 mm. The scales have fine graduations the same as a 10" rule. No serial number. The rule was produced in 1914 or 1915.
- 4031 #4 --- 5" All glass cursor. The frame width is 21 mm. The scales have fine graduations the same as a 10" rule. No serial number. The rule was produced between 1915 and 1921.
- 4031 #5 --- 5" All glass cursor. The frame width is 21 mm. No serial number. The rule has coarse graduations that were used from 1922 on. The rule probably was produced in 1922 or 1923.
- 4032 ------ 5" Attached magnifier on cursor. The rule has fine graduations. There is an extended centi-meter scale inside the frame. The frame is made of boxwood or pear wood instead of mahogany. The frame is not adjustable. The rule probably was produced around 1900..
