Gerd Keuffle
Great Grandson of the founder of K&E
There were many highlights of the fall 2005 meeting of the 2005 Oughtred Society but the two big ones were seeing the K&E collection and meeting Gerd Keuffel.
In the first picture below Gerd is holding his great grandfather's personal slide rule that has been handed down through the family. It is an early D&P rule with "Keuffel" inscribed on the front of the brass cursor. This slide rule probably dates from around 1880 or earlier.
The second picture shows Gerd behind a portion of the K&E collection.
The third picture is Gerd behind a bust of his great grandfather.
