MIT K&E Collection
One of main features of the 2005 fall Oughtred Society meeting was a private showing of the K&E archive collection that was donated to MIT about 2 years ago.
The 64 drawers that are in a large oak cabinet were brought out and laid out on tables where we could view them. The contents in each drawer is as it was originally found. There appears to be some organization to them yet there is also a lot of random items mixed everywhere. There are specimens of K&E's competition. There are collections of items other than slide rules such as Leroy and scales. Most of the collection is in boxes but there were many rules laying loose in drawers. Most of the items are marked with a FLxxx number. We are not sure what FL stands for.
We were not able to touch any items. Debbie Douglas did pick up many items for us to see closer.
