History:

Of the catalogs available the 4240 polar planimeter first appeared in the 1901 catalog.

• 1901 -- The 4240 was first introduced.
• 1930 -- The 4240 1/2 was shown in the 1930 price list for the 1927 full line catalog.
• 1939 -- The 4240 was only furnished with one testing rule for both English and Metric. The 4240 was last mentioned in this price list.
